DIY Kitchen Countertop Remodel
A woodworker scratch builds kitchen countertops for his wife. Watch the countertop construction progress from the custom core through the application of plastic laminate. The countertops are trimmed in oak with a half inch matching inset band to hide screw heads in the radius. After installation, cement board and ceramic tile were applied as a backsplash. New appliances were ordered and installed. Under counter florescent lights wired to a single switch completed the project. Next, I will construct a laundry room off the kitchen (and 5 feet into my shop) with new flooring throughout. Wife happy.
