Complete tile Shower install Part 2 Waterproofing is not an option, and should never be omitted in a wet area. Even though cement board like Durock is water safe, it is not waterproof. All corners are reinforced with a fiberglass fabric and two coats of waterproofing is applied to all surfaces that will be in the wet are of the shower. The mud of the shower floor is installed with a level perimeter and slopped to the drain with a pitch of a ¼” per foot.
All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area. This video contains affiliate links, which means I will receive a small commission if you click on the product link.
