Amy Howard Kitchen Makeover — How to Paint and Distress Kitchen area Cabinets

Kitchen area makeover built easy (and very affordable) with Amy Howard Chalk Paint and Dim Wax. The full course of action took about 72 hours whole, together with cleansing, painting, drying, distressing and buffing.

Paint and wax info:
The model is Amy Howard, and I ordered it a area keep identified as Petals and Vine in McKinney. I employed the clear wax, the darkish wax and the chalk paint in Bauhaus Buff.

  8. Distressing is sanding or removing paint or stain off…
Antiquing or aging is what you are doing.🙂

  14. It's always mind-boggling to watch people paint over solid oak (cabinets or furniture). You probably could have listed and sold those cabinets (used) for $3K.

  17. I just don't like that it looks dirty. I'd prefer to sand it and seal it with clear wax. That dark wax looks like you've just let you cabinets get filthy for years.

  18. Hi Nicole, I'm wondering now that it has been over three years, how are you feeling about them? Would you do it again? Did they continue to hold up? Have they needed a lot of touch ups? I'm especially wondering how the wax held up where hands are opening the cupboards? Thanks! It's a great video!

  28. Wow thats a great job on the cabinets Nicole. Im just wondering if a clear coat of varnish over top would lock in the freshness.
