This video is the full length, from start to finish, process for remodeling a full bathroom and small half bathroom. Demo floor and shower tile. Install concrete backer board. Install shower tile and grout. Install floor tile and tile baseboard. Plumbing. Redo plumbing and install a new shower and sink faucet.

I filmed this the only way i could … as someone who has never done it before. We made mistakes as we went along but overall it turned out great. We are very happy with the result and saved a lot of money doing it by ourselves.

Hopefully you learn something by watching these series of video's. Let me know anything i missed, the many things we got wrong, and something you recommend to make remodeling your bathroom easier.

  8. If my shower was that well built I would leave it as is. It would cost too much to improve it. It must have been a girl who wanted new tile.

  11. Dave,
Why didn't you install a moisture barrier (aquabar or black tar paper) between the backer board and the wood framing. You need one to prevent mold or mildew to start growing in the wall cavity because water will get through the grout and behind the tile. Now the backer board is wet and so are the studs with no way to dry.

  21. No gloves? Going to cut the shit out of yourself. – edit, lol, 2 seconds later, you did. Fool. Now you know better. I'm sitting here thinking "that's one lucky son of a bitch", now you're just lucky it wasn't worse! Wear gloves. Safety squints are okay for eye protection. Also, this isn't a remodel, it's a renovation.
