RV Toilet Rework!

We have been waiting for a bit to dive into the RV Lavatory Transform. It was just a partial transform with changing the floor to match a little bit closer to the rest of the RV and change the present Thetford Bathroom for a Dometic 310 bathroom. Below are the links to the toilets we utilized.

The job went very well and tends to make it come to feel a little bit much more like our house. I like earning these alterations to our 5th Wheel to make it far more customized.

  1. Did I miss something? This video is a flooring and trim replacement not a remodel

  4. I too went from a thetford to the dometic 310. I need to learn how to remove my tub, the leak is under there! Previous owner didn't do too well on the winterization! When I do that I think I can remove my new toilet and get a better floor.

  5. Ideas on how to put a little sink in a bathroom like this?

  6. You mentioned that the screws were going to be different switching toilet brands but then you did not address it at all when you put the new toilet down. Were there any issues? How did you solve them?

  7. You did mostly cosmetic touches. The main technical failure was to NOT use a waterproof membrane on your floor.
    1. You did not remove the old floor. God knows what mold and junk is under those tiles.
    2. You did not install a waterproof membrane like Schluter Kerdi or a backerboard like Kerdiboard so that your floor is 100% protected in bathroom.
    3. We saw mostly your talking head rather than the RV work done. If this is your wife filming, tell her to focus on the RV not you. This is not a home movie, its a DIY video. Do a better job of upgrades, this was not a robust job.

  8. Both excellent upgrades! Thank you for sharing the toilet upgrade. I’m encouraged at how straightforward it appears (with the right prep work and planning, I’m sure). As usual, your videos are outstanding and set the bar high. Extra bonus: adorable kitten! 😻 Thank you!

  10. There’s a few things we want to do in our RV but I’m so nervous of screwing up. RV’s are not as robust as a home.

  11. Great job. I have been wanting to put the peel and stick flooring down in our Wave trailer. Thanks for the tip of roughing up the floor and being able to apply over the existing floor.

  15. Thanks for the video. We just bought a new TT with a cheap plastic toilet. Havent used camper because its winter here but if you put some weight on them they sound like they will break. LOL Been looking at the 310 also.

  23. Loved your cat. It seemed as though she owned the picture shot of her behind the toilet. She cute. You made installing the toilet and flooring seem so easy. I guess I could do that myself now. Thanks for sharing. Love both of your channels.

  25. Great job on the toilet exchange. I'm doing the same exchange soon just waiting on the sunshine state to be a little less HOT. If I understand correctly the "tube" (no idea what it's called) that goes down into the black tank is the same size on both brands? BTW what did you name the kitten?

  27. Very nice. Is there a reason why you couldn't use a real residential toilet in an RV?
