  5. Very smart building too. Can never have enough support for concrete as the wood settles if it sags even a mm the cement could easily crack so well done. Love your flooring idea for the shelves. That grabbed me. Thanks so much

  9. Minimal but elegant. A lovely combo. Is it a small kitchen or is that just a small part of the kitchen? Either way it looks fabulous.

  14. Aesthetically this is a winner, but no toe kick makes these counters a back breaker for extended use. Doubtless, Ben is young and fit enough to not mind… yet.

  26. I really love how minimalistic the shelves above the countertops are attached to the walls. I'd like to copy this style for my grandparents house which I'm renovating right now. Does anyone have an idea how it's done? Do you glue them, use dowels, screws, angle jonts to make them sturdy enough for havier staff? Mine would also be on the two corners of the only wall with a window in the kitchen.

  27. Do you think ripping the 2×4's in half to make it look more thin and streamlined would still be strong enough?

  29. Ben. I love your videos but I worry about the ergonomics. Why do you work hunched over on the floor so often? You're young but I think you'll feel it in your body down the road 🙁 Just want you to take care of yourself. Thanks for fantastic content and ideas though.

  32. Dude, your video egged me on to make my own kitchen units, be it mine is lot more complex. I'll also be making my own counter top, butcher block, using homemade simple bar clamps. Btw, i'd appreciate all your feedback as i am doing this, i'll upload it on my channel if you can give me your feedback, here is the planning part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_t6PXoqM9I

  36. go to ……… chemicals, get some boric acid powder [industrial grade]
sprinkle some in the void between the floor and the bottom of the
assembly as well as at the back of the drawer well and wherever you cant
reach or clean easily [maybe the top part of the assembly] and you will
NEVER have a cockroach or fishmoth problem from that part of your
kitchen. whilst you are at it sprinkle some behind and underneath your
fridge, oven and inside the db [the stuff will not burn] dishwasher or
    whatever.
boric acid is less toxic than table salt and will not harm your kids or pets – termites also succumb to it…. did not God order us to "… have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."? gen 1:26
