Basement Renovation Episode 2

Today I am sharing my second episode in the basement renovation. The trim is complete and now the carpet decisions and paint decisions are on the table.

  1. What caused the flooding of that basement. Was it weather related or broken water pipes? Just curious, I must have missed that part if you posted it in a video. It looks like it's going to be amazing.

  3. We don't have basements in houses in this area. Interesting to see, 'cause I've always pictured a basement as a creepy storage area. πŸ™‚ Probably from watching old movies. Living through a home & family crisis is emotionally challenging, but thank goodness all of you are well & no one was hurt. Warmer & better days ahead. Wish you could send rain our way.

  5. The new wood trim / architrave looks great. I think you made the right decision re the flat profile to match the original. Good luck with the painting. Best wishes from Australia (where we don’t typically have basements πŸ˜ƒ) xx

  9. Why not do something different in the hall that abuts the stairs. That way you do t have to worry about it not matching…like a vinyl flooring, tile, ceramic tile something.

  10. Hi Rachel, I think you are making great progress. It seems there are times when everything goes wrong many things are replaceable over time things get done. I think it is the emotional battering that can stall us and feel overwhelming. You and your family are doing well seeing all the things that have happened. I thank God for answering prayer. I pray peace and joy for you all. God bless you and your loved ones.

  12. It has been a rough couple of months for you. I look so forward to watching G d rebuild your house and your spirit. Because, of course, He will. It's crazy how tragedy seems to come in a wave. The floor literally and figuratively was ripped from under you. And it is literally and figuratively being rebuilt into something new. Brighter, cleaner, wider. Go forth on to Spring and FLOURISH. I am praying for you and your family.
