  1. It looks beautiful! Wonderful job! I would love to paint our kitchen cabinets, but they’re laminate and I don’t know that the paint would stick like it would to wood, so we will likely have to buy all new cabinets when we redo our kitchen. Anyway! Yours look great! Also, I would go ahead and switch out the light switch plates to white if I were you; I think they would look more updated and actually blend more with the cabinets. Lastly, if you want I eventually put something on the white wall, a rectangular wooden sign (like one from Small Woods) would look great there! Would be neutral and tie in with the rectangular light fixture above the table. 🙂

  3. Love the blank wall. We have littles, too, and the constant chaos of the house is enough visual clutter. LOVE your living room and your sunroom, those are interest enough!

  4. I really like it. I think you did a great job. If it was my kitchen i would probably get a white tile back splash (maybe textured) and remove some of the upper cabinets and put an open wooden shelf. Its a great sink and the benchtop is excellent for a kitchen.

  5. So proud of your new kitchen. Beautifully completed on an extremely small budget. Well done!

  6. I think on the white wall, a gallery wall would look nice. Even just with black and white pictures. It would add some personal touches without adding too much color. Since your kitchen is more neutral.

  9. I painted our dining room chairs a color called toasted poppyseed. When the morning sun comes in they look blue. Midday they look black and evening time they look gray. I absolutely love them.

  10. I love the reno on cabinets. It's the same style in New Zealand using 2 different colors. For white wall I would do a brass lined mirror or a wooden art that ties the sunroom

  14. The re-do looks so fresh and clean. Good job!
The white wall? Well, my style is completely different than what's popular these days, with lots of white. I've always had trouble being content with a white wall–it just looks like a blank canvas to me, like it's unfinished and waiting for something.
I've painted the kitchen cabinets in my last three houses. It totally updates the kitchen without the huge price tag. Once I've painted them and added new hardware I consider them "custom." 🙂

  20. Nice job, Meghan. I painted mine, but it took us about 5 years to decide. I was ready bit my husband wasn’t. I do not regret it.

  21. Great job on the remodel! I vote for a long wooden shelf that has a platform wide enough to put more plants, photos, art, quotes/scripture and maybe even a large mirror. You could make the shelf match the wood of your table, trim, or the wood from the sunroom, and possibly match the mirror frame to your bottom cabinets (or vice versa). The shelf could give added aesthetic appeal, allow to you tie elements together, but also allow for change for seasons, moods, needs, etc.

  26. How about paint the outlet cover either brass or black like the appliance or the bottom cabinet color …add another basket wall maybe. I think the bush is a azealia ( hard to see) and maybe you can paint the back of the chairs and table leg in kitty gray to tie all together. I love the kitchen now( I love to recycle and reuse) ..beautiful ..love your kids so cute ..thanks for the hardware link

In the big wall, I would put a large shelf and put some flowers and a clock in it. 😊

  29. I love it! I really don't like rooms that are too matchy matchy. That type of space loses something. It doesn't have the warmth of a house that has evolved over time. You did a great job and it looks like you spent way more than $500. ☺

  30. I would go with the white plates. The almond ones look really old on the videos now up against your bright white cabinets now. 🙂

  31. What about adding wainscoting to the eating area, either matching the wainscoting in the living room or matching the color of the lower cabinets? Or even matching the wood trim? What about using brass switch plates to match the hardware in the kitchen? When you replace the kitchen floor, what kind of floor are you envisioning? I think the whole thing turned out really, really well. Good job!

  32. I think it looks great! LOVE the bottom cabinet color! gorgeous! An idea, you can do a large canvas painting on the large wall behind your kitchen table using the colors you used on your kitchen cabinets, front room and a color you have in your beautiful sun room. It would tie it all together and be fun to do. Geometric tape canvas painting are nice, modern and popular.
